SLEEP 🛌 CYCLE

What time do you go to bed and wake up currently?

My iPhone app is set to turn off all apps at 11pm and go into “Sleep” mode until 7am when my iPhone starts tweeting like a meadowlark until I touch the screen to either turn off the alarm ⏰ or snooze 💤 for another 30 minutes. Love ❤️ this app!!!!! Also have Alarmy for taking daytime naps. Just set the wake-up time and lay down with iPhone nearby and it will wake you up at your wake-up time. Have my alarm sound set to forest leaves and breezes. Love this app too!!!!!

Human Taglines

If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

Never give up, and never surrender! For once you give up and/or surrender, then you have lost the fight against adversity, anxiety, anger, frustration, despair, depression, and others that I have not mentioned here. The list can go on and on. Everyone has a different list. What is yours? Have a great day everyone! God Bless. 🎚️🙏

NAME CHANGE TO RELIGIOUS ONE

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?

My first name would be Thomas (Apostle who doubted Christ Jesus). I had many questions as a child growing up in the Church. My middle name would be Francis after St. Francis of Assisi, who cared for those less fortunate. My last name would be Bartholomew, after St. Bartholomew, the Apostle. He followed St. Thomas to India, where they founded the St. Thomas Christian’s of Malabar, India, circa 52 AD.

Three Books That Have Had An Impact On Me

List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?

The first book is The Holy Bible, King James Version. I learned to read from The Bible, starting at age seven in 1959. The second book was my addition/subtraction study book in first grade in 1959. I loved learning how to add and subtract. My third book was my spelling book in first grade where I learned new words and how to spell them and have spelling contests to see who was the best speller in our class.

Time To Unplug

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

I got go for a walk around the neighborhood. Walk a mile in about 30 minutes and then come home. After that I may read a book or newspaper, followed by a nap 😴. Wake up refreshed and I’m ready to go back online again. Ha! Ha! 😵‍💫😹

How do you balance work and home life?

I am retired. I do all the housework, from doing the dishes, vacuuming, and laundry 🧺. I walk back and forth from the front of the house to the back of the house numerous times a day. I also make the bed 🛏️ when I get up at 5am each morning, 7 days a week. I walk about .7-.8 miles in the house daily. I also walk outside for an additional .5-1.0 miles five days a week, Monday through Friday.

Almost Dying On Active Duty

What sacrifices have you made in life?

Contracted encephalitis in June, 1988, and almost died. Was in the hospital for 8 days and was not expected to live. Each morning the doctors and nurses were surprised that I didn’t die during the t. I was in Intensive Care Unit the whole time and suffered brain damage. Short term memory loss, seizures, and several other issues. Was medically retired in April, 1989, with 40% disability rating after 16 years, 2 months, and 3 days service in the USAF. VA, with the help of the DAV, raised disability to 80%, with individual ability unemployable enhancement, raising disability to 100% payable.
